Interventions

Watching someone you love struggle with drug or alcohol addiction is a horrible thing.  One of the great fallacies of addiction is that the addict must “hit bottom” before anything can be done to help.  Unfortunately, “the bottom,” in addiction, can be death or prison.

The truth is you can intervene in the downward spiral addiction before it reaches painful consequences like death and prison.  Intervention has proven to be a powerful tool in helping an addict seek and accept help.  But please do not attempt an intervention on your own.  Interventions require the skill, knowledge and direction of a chemical dependency professional.

If you are concerned about your child’s chemical or alcohol use we urge you to call WINGS immediately.  Our chemical dependency professionals would be more than happy to meet with you and help establish an effective course of action.

If it is determined that an intervention is warranted we will guide and direct you through every step of the process, being careful to answer all your questions, helping you select the appropriate participants, telling you exactly what arrangements need to be made, and then being present with you to facilitate the intervention itself.  Our goal is to make the intervention as productive and effective as it can possibly be in helping your child realize their need for help.
