Family Education and Therapy Programming

Alcoholism and drug addiction is a “family disease” affecting everyone in the family.  The good news is that family members can cope with and recover from the effects of chemical dependency, just as chemically dependent individuals can recover from alcoholism/addiction.

Our Family Education and Therapy programming takes place one weekend a month and consists of a 2-day (Friday and Saturday) format.  During the morning course of this program, parents receive psycho-education on substance abuse, family impacts of addictions, and parenting/family support .

During the afternoons, clients and their families process letters and have group[ family therapy to address issues specific to the client and their family situation.  Families also have the ability to have additional individual family therapy with Tamarah Gehlen, our Program Director, or can participate in additional family education with Sheila Iverson, LADC.

It is our hope that families will be able to attend both session days, but out program is flexible and will accommodate families who can only attend one day.
